Computer Crashing while watching videos online

Computer Crashing while watching videos online
Views: 744

Over the past few days my computer has been crashing when watching video's, it doesn't blue screen or overheat and turn itself off. Previously I was able to watch stuff online and play games in full quality without it crashing, I've recently re-installed windows 7 professional and now I'm unable to even watch stuff online.

Here's a list of what I've attempted to do:

- Memtest, (no problems)
-CHKDSK, (no problems)
-Windows Memory Diagnostic, (no problems)
-Windows re-install, (problem persists)
-Graphics Drivers Updated , problem persists
-DirectX updated, Problem persists
-Windows Update, problem persists.
-Tried a variety of Media Players, problem persists
-installed K-Lite codec pack, problem persists.

I can't really think of any other solutions other then about a year ago I got my power supply unit replaced, but after that I was able to watch video's without any problems

New computer, BSOD while watching videos online

So I invested in a nice new computer for myself and have only had it for about a week. I was watching some stuff on youtube and all of a sudden a BSOD pops up and restarts my computer.

I'm sure that it is no doubt some sort of driver that needs to be updated but I have no clue which one it is

Disk size reduced while watching online videos

Yesterday I noticed that while I'm watching online videos like youtube and so on my C: diskspace is shrinking. While I was watching yesterday 2 hours long E3 Sony pressconference diskspace reduced 5-6 GB.

Why this is happening ? Is it normal ? I have 4 GB of RAM on my PC. When I close Firefox diskspace returns like it was before watching. When I looked in Firefox it says that is using only 11,1MB cache.

Unable to play online videos until fully loaded with Google Chrome

Ever since I did a fresh install of Windows 7 (RTM 7600.16385 build), I've been having certain issues with online videos.

Up until installing Windows 7, I was a huge Firefox fan, but a couple of months ago, I decided to give Google Chrome a try, and I'm just loving every minute of it, well except for one single, issue/bug.

There are times that, for me to watch an online video (say,, you name it, any flash-based video), I have to wait for the whole video to be fully loaded, to be able to watch it.

Let's say I want to watch a video, once I click the link, all I see is the black screen with the buffering logo in the middle, up until the video is fully loaded. Now this didn't happen to me with Vista + Firefox.

Is this a Windows 7 problem? or a Google Chrome problem? What should I do? Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 BE @ Stock
ASUS M3A78-EM (780G chipset)
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 800 Mhz @ stock.

Radeon HD 3200 (780G's onboard GPU), using Catalyst 9.5

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Google Chrome latest official build
Using Adobe Flash Player's latest build

Using Windows 7's stock drivers for everything except for Video Card, not sure if I need to install the Chipset driver. Should I?

0x124 BSOD while watching online flash videos.

In the last couple of weeks or so I've started getting BSODs while watching flash videos online. It doesn't seem to matter where they're from I don't believe. It's also not a guaranteed thing with any given video, it appears to be at random but if I had to guess it takes maybe a half hour total of flash video viewing before it happens.

I updated all the drivers I could find that could be updated.

It has yet to happen any time that I wasn't actively viewing a flash video.

BSOD watching online videos/audio streaming.

My brother has a COMPAQ Presario CQ50-107NR Notebook PC, it came originally with Windows Vista OEM, but I had upgraded to Windows 7 Pro x64 in January. From the looks of it the laptop was manufactured in 2008, which makes it about 4 years old.

The issues he is having is, that whenever he is streaming videos on Netflix, Hulu, for a long period of time it stops responding, then it blue screens. The same thing occurs, when he is streaming music on Pandora.

Other times it occurs randomily, but it simply stop responding, and I can't click on anything which leaves me to force shut down. I am thinking it is the Hard-drive since it was originally on a previous laptop, that kept crashing and the HDDs would always spoil.

I am not sure if it is the Memory I installed, but I am clueless at the moment.

The laptop used to get real hot due to the CPU fans being blocked by dirt, but I resolved it when I cleaned the heat-sink and CPU fan.

BSOD playing League of Legends and watching videos online

I've been getting crashes and BSODs on a daily basis and now I'm fed up with it and now trying to figure out how to solve the problem. My comp was purchased from I buy power about 2-3 years ago and it has had the BSOD since the first few months of receiving it.

I've tried reinstalling my video card driver countless times so I think I can rule that out.

If you guys could help me understand how you analyzed my mini dump files that would be great also in case I run into the BSOD in the future.

BSOD+Crashing while watching videos

Basically 2 months ago I just bought a second hand GTX480, and it has worked flawlessly until the recent 2 weeks every morning I turn my computer on just as the windows 7 logo appears the screen goes black and reboots.

Then after that happens from 2-3 times it will never crash again until the next day.

So a new day is here and I turn my computer on it loads perfectly and I thought okay maybe it was just that day but as soon as I watch a youtube video my screen would go black again then reboot.

Funny thing is after it reboots once or twice it wont ever happen again till the next day.

I have done a clean fresh install of my OS and fresh driver install Nvidia 306.23 WHQL

I have an
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
I5-2310 2.9 GHz (4 cpu)
4GB ram
GTX 480 Graphics card

I hope someone could help me identify the problem so I can replace the piece of hardware or if its just a driver issue. I really suspect my GTX is dying on me

Internet Explorer crashing while watching videos

I installed Windows 7 yesterday. Also installed the newest video drivers. Now, I was trying to watch a youtube video, but after one minute my IE crashed and I had to restart the program and start watching a video all over again.

Same problem over and over again. It seems like when I'm trying to watch a movie on youtube or megavideo, etc. IE just can't take it and crashes and restarts itself.

But I really can't watch movies when it crashed every single minute or two.

BSOD whilst watching videos online. Legit Windows 7 and plenty of RAM

Firstly thank you for even clicking and secondly, my problem is as follows: A few weeks ago I completely rebuilt my custom made rig. I used a legit copy of Windows 7 and everything was working fine.

I was then prompted to update windows 7 with about 80 different updates through Windows Update.

I installed these all including SP1 and that's when the problems started. My computer restarted randomly whilst I was doing a lot of different tasks. I immediately went into safe mode and restored back to the point before any of the updates had been done.

This happened on my last config of my PC and I didn't not want to end up down this road again.

A week or so later and my friend tells me to watch this link as I am a "Dexter" fan and all that;

Early_Cuts_Chapter01_Alex_Timmons_WEBRip.mp4 | PutLocker

When it has almost loaded my PC restarts randomly.

About how I should DL SF_Diagnostics_Tool, I clicked grab all "after right clicking run as admin" and it said there was no dump to find, and then an error was displayed about the Event Log.

I have got my BSOD to set up a Small Memory Dump (128KB) should I change this? All the drivers are up to date as well, I am just not sure why it is doing this and why Windows used to crash after doing updates.

Computer freezes when watching videos (or videos calls) with new router

Since I've bought a new cisco router last summer, a Lynksys E1200, my computer (Sony, Vaio VGN-NW110D) freezes when I stream videos online or when I use skype video calls. It sometimes freezes for a few minutes (in that case it's just really extremely slow and it sounds like a satanic robot), and then comes back (but does it again a few minutes later.

Or sometimes, and this is more frequent with skype video calls, it completely freezes, and I have to reboot the hard way.

This never happened to me before and I've been watching videos and video skyping for years. I have windows 7, service pack 1 (32 bits) now . I have windows 7 now, since about the same time I bought the router.

But what makes me think its realated to the router is that when I'm at work, or at my parents, or sisters, or boyfriend's house, this problem does NOT accrue.

Watching videos crashes computer

Bought a pre-made from computer from Tiger Electronics last year in June. Immediately, as in the day I got it, I started crashing when opening youtube. I solved that by turning off the Realtime visualization or something along those lines and it was temporarily fixed.

I began to have more start up problems and other stupid issues with the computer and their tech-support insisted that nothing was wrong and I'm an idiot but to satisfy me they'd change my hard drive.

So that did nothing, and unless I want to pay a bunch for them to do a real check up on it I've been screwed.

Whenever I open a video, from Windows Media Player to my Flip Video camera player my computer will instantly crash. Whether it's a blue, green, white, or black screen it's different every time.

Computer Freezing/Black Screen during gaming/watching videos

Initially I had a problem with a BSOD for video scheduler, I installed the latest driver for my video card and I stopped receiving that BSOD. In its place, I began having a new BSOD stating, "An attempt to reset the video driver failed." x0.00000016, so I followed the instructions on another link from this site and uninstalled the AMD driver and then used Driver Fusion to remove the remainder of it. Then I installed the latest driver.

Now I receive no BSOD, but while playing Company of Heroes, after a few minutes of play the screen froze and then went black, and the computer was completely unresponsive. I left it for a while to see if it would restart or show a BSOD, but nothing happened and I had to manually restart.

I have tried playing Diablo 3 to see if it was just that game, and it froze as well, but never went to a black screen, but the computer was unresponsive.

Not sure where to go from here. I have included everything SF Diagnostic generated.
